Meat contains lots of protein and iron, as well as B vitamins, which boosts babies energy! (Yay...) Select meats and poultry that are pasture raised and organic are more nutritious and will minimize potential exposure to artificial hormones, which are not allowed in organic meats.

Ingredients:

1/2 lb beef, lamb, or chicken
1/2 - 1 cup beef broth, chicken broth or water
1 Tbsp. Unsalted butter
Pinch of unrefined sea salt

Makes 1- 1 1/2 cups

Directions:
For beef or lamb purée, bring a sauce pan half full of water over high heat. Add the meat, reduce the heat to medium low, and simmer until tender, about 1 hour.

For chicken purée, Place the chicken in a sauce pan and add 1/2 cup chicken broth. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to medium low and simmer until the meat is cooked through and no longer pink in the center, 30–35 minutes.

Transfer the meat to a food processor or blender. Add 1/2 cup beef broth if pureeing beef or lamb, or transfer both the chicken and the cooking liquid if puréeing chicken. Add the butter and salt; purée until smooth. Add additional broth to thin the purée to the consistency your baby can handle.

Serve immediately. To store refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze in individual portions for up to 1 month.
